„A memorable day“

Ground-breaking ceremony at Gabo Systemtechnik - foundation laid for decades to come.

Niederwinkling. The company Gabo Systemtechnik expands their business, with a ground-breaking ceremony that took place on Monday. The district administrator Josef Laumer, Mayor Ludwig Waas, the economic advisor at the district office, Erich Brunner, Christian Illner from the planning office HIW as well as the representatives of the executing construction companies attended the ground-breaking ceremony for an additional production building of the company, based in Niederwinkling. Gabo Systemtechnik is thus expanding its Niederwinkling site by 10000 square metres.

With the receipt of the building permit in autumn, the preparatory measures for the ground foundation started immediately. Christian Weigend, representative of the owners, Alexander Rümmelein, managing director of the commercial department and Markus Karl, managing director of production and technology were pleased to break ground with their guests.

It was a memorable day for the company, said Markus Karl, as the management at the time had already decided in 1997 to establish the company headquarters in Niederwinkling. The logistical and geographical location of the site contributed to this decision. The main markets of Germany and Central Europe could be optimally supplied from here and with the introduction of the speed pipe System as a flexible solution for the laying of glass fibre, in pipe systems or direct burial, the location in Niederwinkling proved to be especially advantageous.

The company has been constantly developing and expanding, most recently in 2013 with the opening of the sales and training centre. One can see that the past 20 years have been very eventful for the company. With more than 1000 articles, Gabo Systemtechnik is able to offer its partners optimal solutions, said Markus Karl. The new building that is now under construction will secure the location and offer additional jobs in the future. The basis for GaboSystemtechnik is also the employees, who have always pulled together with the management. Eleven trainees and the further ongoing training of the employees contribute to the success. The company is already intensifying its personnel recruitment in the areas of production, warehouse and logistics as well as shipping. The building planning department therefore has reserves for additional offices. "Today's ground-breaking ceremony is a symbol for us, one of the most important milestones of our company. The future building, at 8.5 million euros, is the largest investment in the company's history". Both owners and employees stand behind the project, the managing director assured.

The ground-breaking ceremony laid the foundation for Gabo-Systemtechnik to continue to supply its customers with the best FTTX products for decades to come. "It's not the employer who pays the wages, but the product," quoted District Administrator Josef Laumer Henry Ford, and this also applies to investments such as this new production hall. The managing directors Markus Karl and Alexander Rümmelein can be proud of their product, which has always been further developed. Plastic plants for the production of drainage pipes have become a leading partner for telecommunications companies and network operators throughout Europe, Laumer praised with respect. With this new building, they are setting another milestone to ensure long-term growth. As District Administrator of the district, he thanked the company for its commitment and dedication to its home base. According to Laumer, the ground-breaking ceremony is intended to show that the same principles prevail in the construction as in the company philosophy. The foundation must be right so that one is firmly anchored in the ground. Mayor Ludwig Waas called it a day of joy that the company continues to invest in the location and community, thus placing confidence in the region. After the ground-breaking ceremony, light refreshments were provided to give managers, political representatives and construction companies an opportunity to exchange ideas.
