Bregal Unternehmerkapital supports US market expansion in the field of logistics and ERP software: Iptor acquires Mesa Group

For our portfolio company Iptor, the year begins with a success story. In late February 2021, the specialist provider of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), supply chain management, and logistics software and services has successfully completed its first acquisition under the ownership of the family-backed investor Bregal Unternehmerkapital: The US-based Mesa Group, a provider of bespoke IT process solutions and longstanding Iptor Gold Partner will expand both the market presence of Iptor in the United States as well as its products and services portfolio.

Mesa Group, based in Flower Mound, Texas, supports its clients in the logistics, durable and non-durable goods, and pharmaceutical sectors with strategic and technical consulting services to help them achieve their business and IT goals. As an Iptor Gold Partner, Mesa Group has already implemented numerous Iptor solutions for its clients in the past and therefore significantly contributed to accessing the US market for Iptor. Despite the COVID-19 crisis in the previous year, Iptor achieved a growth of 60 percent in US-based subscription revenues.

In 2020, Bregal Unternehmerkapital acquired Iptor from Marlin Equity Partners together with its current CEO Jayne Archbold and CMO/CPO Christopher Catterfeld, who both reinvested in the company. The acquisition was preceded by a growth and transformation phase initiated by Archbold and Catterfeld, which continues to this day. Acquiring Mesa Group represents the next step as part of the “Iptor 22 Strategic Growth Plan”, which is supported by Bregal Unternehmerkapital. Its goal is to further expand Iptor’s footprint in the US market, particularly in the pharmaceutical sector. To this end, Mesa Group contributes with an experienced team of pharma ERP experts, who will support the launch of the “Iptor 1 Pharma” cloud solution over the course of 2021.

The team of Bregal Unternehmerkapital is looking forward to working with Mesa Group and will continue to support Iptor’s further growth strategies and expansion goals with growth capital, extensive expertise and experience in the enterprise software sector – in addition to Iptor, the companies GUS, proALPHA, SHD, PDV and STP are also part of the portfolio of the family-backed investor in this field.
