The owners of Syntela Dienstleistungs GmbH under the leadership of majority shareholder Caldec Holding GmbH, a privately owned investment holding, have decided to sell 100% of the Leipzig-based billing service provider to Tabularius Verwaltungs GmbH. The transaction closed on April 5, 2016.
Tabularius, under whose umbrella the Leipzig-based billing service provider INTER-FORUM GmbH already operates, is a company owned by Bregal Unternehmerkapital. Syntela will be a sister firm of INTER-FORUM GmbH. Together, both companies intend to strengthen their position in the health care market and drive forward their growth in an increasingly digitalized environment.
With over 100 staff based in Leipzig, Syntela is a leading provider of billing services for statutory health insurers. Syntela focuses on “Betriebskrankenkassen”, which were founded as corporate health insurers but are now open to the general public. In recent years, the company has managed to diversify its client base by winning tenders of larger health insurers. INTER-FORUM employs around 1,000 people at its Leipzig site, where it concentrates on providing billing services for some of the largest statutory health insurers in Germany. Both companies focus on auditing bills and claims issued by “other services providers” and pharmacies, an area where the two companies complement each other extremely well. Syntela’s agility and dynamism, combined with INTER-FORUM’s process stability and performance in mass data processing, will result in new, leaner operating concepts which are even better tailored to the clients’ needs.
