Bregal Unternehmerkapital supports MEDIA Central’s growth through the acquisition of the Offerista Group

MEDIA Central, a portfolio company of funds advised by Bregal Unternehmerkapital (“BU”), has achieved another milestone in its growth journey: In late July 2021, the market leader in unaddressed household advertising successfully acquired Berlin-based Offerista Group GmbH, Europe’s largest shopper marketing network and specialist for digital drive-to-store marketing solutions offering widest reach for the retail market. With the merger, both companies combine their core competencies in the areas of haptic and digital advertising solutions, thus offering their clients a single-source full-service approach.


Offerista was founded in 2008 and has since been growing dynamically. The company offers bespoke, digital solutions for location-based drive-to-store marketing solutions. With a team of 130 at eight locations in Europe, the company advises more than 1,600 international retail customers and brands along their respective customer journeys across channels and countries. In addition to its own high-quality platforms, Offerista particularly distinguishes itself through its unique partner network, which enables retail customers to reach c. 40 million consumers in the DACH region and France through differentiated cross-channel campaigns that are unmatched in terms of overall reach. Offerista offers its clients cutting-edge advertising formats and data-driven products, thus positioning itself as an innovative provider of digital trade marketing solutions, especially in the DACH region.


Funds advised by BU have acquired a majority stake in the MEDIA Central group in early 2019 as part of a succession plan, and have since continuously driven the group’s growth in cooperation with the management team. The acquisition of Offerista Group GmbH is another important milestone for MEDIA Central on its path of becoming a leading 360-degree provider of traditional and modern trade communication in Europe, especially in light of increasing hybrid use of different marketing channels and a steadily growing market environment. Both companies have already been working together successfully on various customer projects since 2019. With the merger, the dynamic growth of recent years will continue and accelerate further. For both companies, their combination of haptic and digital expertise in trade communication offers a wide range of opportunities to launch unique data-based product innovations and support their clients as an innovative full-service provider.
